All of our makers are members of the Craft Potters Association and each of them have a story to tell.

Sarah Villeneau

With a training in art, design, and ceramics culminating in an MA in ceramics, Sarah creates ceramic sculptures. Taking the idea of clay as a metaphor for the body, and the body as vessel, her work explores these concepts through an abstracted study of the physiology and corporeality of the body.

Lesley McShea

Lesley was born in Lancashire, England and is based in Stoke Newington in London.

She discovered ceramics at an early age, in Australia, where the textures and colours of the landscapes and terrain greatly influenced her. She studied firstly in Australia where she gained a Diploma (Distinction) in Ceramics at Caulfield Institute of Technology in 1982.

Andy Mason

Andy was born and raised in North Staffordshire, aware of the nearby manufactured ceramics and the historical legacy of ‘The Potteries’. Beyond pottery lessons at school, Andy undertook a vocational craft-based course at the University of Derby.

Moyra Stewart

Moyra Stewart has worked in clay for more than forty years after graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 1979. Her work has been exhibited across the UK, in Canada and Japan, and in 2015 she was awarded Craft & Design Maker of the Year prize.

Tanya Gomez

Tanya Gomez is a celebrated ceramist renown for her porcelain vessels in her signature lustrous colours.

With an MA in Ceramics from the Royal College of Art, Tanya’s process is practice led. Developed from traditional methods and disciplines Tanya has honed her skills over the last 15 years and uses dynamic throwing, cutting and assembling techniques to create large cylindrical shapes. Impactful both individually and as a group, her vessels create expressive, vivid landscapes and fluid, architectural forms.

Rhian Malin

Inspired by her grandmother’s Willow Pattern collection, Rhian Malin continues the long historic tradition of hand-painting porcelain with cobalt-blue decoration. Her elegant wheel-thrown porcelain vessels are the chosen surface, created to stretch this tradition into the 21st Century.
