Based in North Yorkshire, Emily graduated with a BA(Hons) in Ceramics from University of Wales, Cardiff in 2007. She went on to co-found PICA Studios - an artist led studio collective of 23 artists, makers, writers, and thinkers set within an 18th century printworks in the centre of historic York.
Sun Kim is a Korean ceramicist born in Saudi Arabia. She received her first BA in Fine Arts in Brazil where she grew up. Following that she continued her studies in ceramics, graduating with a second BA from Alfred University, New York in 2003. In 2004, she moved to the UK to undertake a studio assistantship with Edmund de Waal. In 2007, she set up her own practice in South London where she is currently based.
Craig was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Ceramics at Harrow College, then gained a BA(Hons) Fine Art specialising in Ceramics at Portsmouth Polytechnic. He has taught extensively and became a professional member of the Craft Potters Association in 2005.
Hannah creates both monoprints and ceramic work. There is a theme of interwoven methods throughout; each approach blending into the next, her unique creations embrace their strikingly different techniques. With purposeful brush strokes, stamps, pencil marks and carvings she creates fluid visual landscapes on the textures of canvas and smooth ceramic surfaces.
John Pollex has carved his own niche into the world of studio pottery. Translating his interest in Zen calligraphy into the spontaneous and mesmerising display of colour his work is known for today.
Kate creates sculptural vessels which explore the transformational nature of time on human experience. Her practice involves a continuous investigation of structure and surface, with particular emphasis on ceramic materials, fragmentation and transfiguration. Kate’s making process consists of the tearing, breaking and joining of clay to create organic forms with undulating edges, fault lines and fissures.
